Corearte Junior Ternerife International Festival

Participate in the Corearte Junior Tenerife Festival with your youth choir and experience the vibrant culture, music, and traditions of the island of Tenerife. Corearte Junior Tenerife is a non-competitive festival, attended by choirs from all over the world. With the breathtaking beauty of the Canary Island's old town and golden beaches, this choir festival is sure to delight.

This unique youth festival provides the opportunity for young choirs to meet and mingle with other participating choirs and to hear choral performances from around the world. Your week will consist of workshops, choral meetings, concerts and exciting tours. There is also time for sightseeing and going to the beach.

Tenerife is the largest of the seven islands that make up the Canary Islands; It occupies a central position between the islands of Gran Canaria, La Gomera and La Palma. It is located about 300 km. from the African continent and about 1,300 km. of the Iberian Peninsula. It is strangely triangular shape, showing off its central peak of Teide, which at 3,718 meters is the highest point in Spain. Of volcanic origin, the rugged island terrain offers a variety of climates. The people, the magic of the Atlantic coast, the exquisite cuisine and island character make Tenerife an ideal place for Junior choirs to have a great experience.

The choral workshops

Since its inception, the choral workshops have been one of the most prominent areas of the youth Festival as they give participants the opportunity to work with internationally renowned conductors. In 2016, were taught by the Barcelona conductor Oriol Castanyer and the Finnish workshop conductor Sanna Valvanne. To maximize the musical experience of the workshops, participants should have previously learned the work, so that the teacher can fully engage in tasks of style and interpretation.

The concerts

The venues for the concerts are chosen because of their acoustic quality and cultural and/or architectural interest, thus providing an opportunity for participants to sing at important sites of the island. Each choir will participate in two concerts individually, and also in the final concert with all participating choirs.

All category of choirs are welcome to attend, however participants should be beetween 7 and 24 years old

Airport transfers

CCI are happy to arrange airport-hotel-airport transfers for all choirs who have booked flights with us. Unfortunately, we are unable to arrange airport transfers where flights are not booked as part of the festival package.
