Istria is located on the peninsula on the Italian border, in the far north of Croatia.  The cultural and historical influence of Italy and Central Europe is ever apparent in Istra which offers many attractions and sights. The combination of natural beauties, the healing powers of air, sun and the ocean, as well as the hospitality of the local inhabitants make for an ideal choral destination. Along with picturesque parks, a stunning stone coast and long beaches, the Croatian Riveria provides many superb cultural events, such as the Istra Music Festival with performances from choirs and orchestras from all over the world.

Choirs arrive

Meet local guide on arrival at Venice airport. Travel by private coach to your hotel located in Porec. Gather first impressions of beautiful Istra and gather first impressions of Croatia. Tonight, is served in the hotel restaurant.

 

Rehearsal and participation in festival concert

Enjoy the morning at leisure and in the early afternoon choir rehearsal takes place. This evening, dinner is served at the hotel and afterwards perform your 30-minute festival concert in frontof other attending choirs. You will also have the opportunity to hear the performances of other attending choirs.

 

Choir participate in the concert with other attending choirs 

Today, morning at leisure and in the afternoon choirs perform in the joint concert (open-air in front of the Church Gospa od Anđela. (please note that this concert is weather depending). This is an opportunity for all choirs to come together with each choir performing one or two songs. Choirs can also opt to have the afternoon free to enjoy Porec or perhaps explore Pula or Rovinj on an excursion. In the evening, dinner is served at the hotel restaurant and choral performances once again take place. 

 

Excursion 

Today, choirs can relax at leisure or take the opportunity to see more of the area on an excursion. We recommend an excursion of Istra with wine and olive tasting to really get a feel for this stunning area. In the evening, dinner is served at the hotel restaurant and choral performances once again take place. 

 

Choirs depart

This morning, check out of the hotel and depart for your flight home. 

 

The festival schedule and the number of festival concerts will depend on the number and kind of participating choirs and orchestras. There will be plenty of time between rehearsals and concerts for tourist leisure activities.

 

• Three or four nights bed and breakfast in a 3* or 4* Hotel with breakfast

• Half-board on three evening (drinks are not included)

• Festival participation fee

• Participation diploma per choir

• Souvenir folder per group

• Festival concert performance of 30-45 minute duration 

• Participation in the festival concert together with other participating choirs (1-2 songs) – weather depending

• Return airport transfer from Venice airport with local guide assistance on arrival 

• Free place for choir conductor

 

• A CCI Tour Manager will be assigned to you for the duration of your booking, to assist in the pre-departure preparations and to assist with any issues during your stay. The tour manager does not travel with the group.

Choirs usually make their way around the city via public transport. However, we can arrange coach transportation for your group as required.
