Slovakia Cantat International Choir Festival & Competition

In sprimg 2024, the city of Bratislava invites choirs from all over the world to attend the International Choir Festival & Competition in the Slovakian capital.  The festival is open to choir of all categories and the repertoire can be freely chosen and all music styles are permitted.   All choirs get the chance to perform in Bratislava’s most prestigious venues including the Jesuit Church, the Art Nouveau Moyzes Concert Hall and the Klarisky Music Hall. Sample Itinerary

 

Day 1

Choirs arrive at local airport and meet with their local festival assistant who will accompany the group to the hotel and hold a brief welcome meeting. Choirs have the opportunity to perform in individual workshops in the afternoon. In the evening the festival opening concert is held in the Jesuit Church in Bratislava’s old town. Each choir is invited to present a sacred a cappella music program or with piano accompaniment (duration 5 minutes).

 

Day 2

Sightseeing, Competition Concerts & Festive Concert

 

Start the day with breakfast at hotel.  After breakfast, choirs can enjoy a guided city walk through Bratislava’s Old Town.  Choirs have free time for lunch in the early afternoon and in the afternoon choirs attend the Competition concerts “SLOVAKIA CANTAT” held at the Moyzes Concert Hall (15 min. performance with free choice of program).  In the eveningm choirs attend a festive concert at the Klarisky Music Hall in the Old Town of Bratislava (15 min. performance - free choice of program).

Choirs usually make their way around the region with the local guide via public transport. However, we can arrange coach transportation for your group as

required.
