Mozart's homeland has a plethora of world-class music and cultural events throughout the year, including the internationally renowned Salzburg Sings Festival. Numerous locations provide an unmatched backdrop for an incredible musical adventure, including the Fortress Hohensalzburg, the baroque mansion, Salzburg Cathedral, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthplace, which is situated in the centre of the old town. This spring, the "Jubilate – Salzburg choral" extends an invitation to soloists and ensembles worldwide to participate in the yearly "Salzburg Sings!” choral festival in Mozart, where they will collaborate to perform Puccini's masterwork at High Mass at Salzburg Cathedral.

PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITIES

 Information For the Participants

- Both choirs and singers are invited.

- The singers should rehearse Giacomo Puccini’s „Messa di Gloria“ beforehand.

- Please bring your own choral scores or piano reductions for the “Messa di Gloria”.

- Any edition can be used.

The Salzburg Sings Festival participation includes:

- Choir rehearsal on Thursday

- Choir and orchestra rehearsal on Friday

- Concert of the Philharmonic Choir Dresden on Friday

- Dress rehearsal with soloists

- Choir and orchestra on Saturday

- High mass at Salzburg Cathedral featuring Giacomo Puccini’s „Messa die Gloria“ for soloists, choir, orchestra, and organs on Sunday.


Tour Manager

A CCI Tour Manager will be assigned to you for the duration of your booking, to assist in the pre-departure preparations and to assist with any issues during your stay. The tour manager does not travel with the group.


Transportation While in Salzburg

Choirs usually make their way around the city with the local guide via public transport. However, we can arrange coach transportation for your group as required.

Day 1

  • Individual arrival in Salzburg
  • Check-into your booked accommodation
  • 1st Rehearsal of Messa di Gloria Choir and piano
  • Conductors: Jan S. Bechtold & Iris Geißler - Duration: approx. 2 hours
  • Dinner at accommodation/local restaurant
  • Overnight/buffet breakfast at booked accommodation
Day 2
  • Explore Salzburg during a 2h guided city tour
  • Stroll through the picturesque Mirabell Gardens
  • Make your way to the charming streets of the Old Town (Altstadt)
  • Continue to the historic Getreidegasse
  • Pass by the impressive Salzburg Cathedral
  • End your walk at Mozartplatz, home to the famous statue of Mozart
  • 2nd rehearsal, Choir and piano
  • Conductors: Jan S. Bechtold & Iris Geißler - Duration: approx. 2 hours
  • Attend a concert of the Philharmonic Choir Dresden in Salzburg
  • Overnight/buffet breakfast at booked accommodation
Day 3
  • Excursion to Hellbrunn including admission to the trick fountains and Hellbrunn Palace
  • Explore Hellbrunn
  • Embark on an entertaining journey back in time to the era of Prince-Archbishop Markus Sittikus
  • For the more athletic, a visit to the "Stone Theatre" is recommended
  • Dress rehearsal on the west gallery in Salzburg Cathedral. Choir, soloists and orchestra - Duration: approx. 1,5 hours

Day 4
  • 09:15am Meet in front of Salzburg Cathedral
  • 09:30am short rehearsal in the cathedral
  • 10:00am High Mass in Salzburg Cathedral
  • Giacomo Puccini: „Messa di Gloria” featuring the Jubilate Choir Salzburg, the Philharmonic Choir Dresden, the orchestra of the Resurrection Church Salzburg singers of the 5th “Salzburg Sings! Festival and members of the Musikkapelle Hof
