Each year in April, Istria in Croatia attracts choirs from all corners of the globe for the Istra Music Festival. Set in the picturesque coastal town of Poreč, the festival offers a wonderful opportunity for choirs to perform, meet other international ensembles and explore one of Croatia’s most beautiful regions. The festival begins as choirs arrive midweek and continues throughout the weekend with a programme of concerts and cultural activities. Choirs perform their own concert programme as well as participating in a joint concert together with other festival choirs.
During your stay, there will also be opportunities to explore the historic towns of Pula and Rovinj, both famous for their charming old streets, beautiful coastal scenery and cultural heritage.
Istria is located on the peninsula in northern Croatia, close to the Italian border. The region reflects strong cultural influences from both Italy and Central Europe and offers a wonderful mix of history, architecture, beautiful coastline and warm Mediterranean hospitality.

A CCI Tour Manager will be assigned to you for the duration of your booking, to assist in the pre-departure preparations and to assist with any issues during your stay.
Transportation While in Istria
Choirs usually make their way around the city with the local guide via public transport. However, we can arrange private coach transportation for your group as required.
Sample Tour Itinerary - Istria 2027!
Day 1 - Arrival in Croatia
Arrive at Venice Airport and meet your local guide.
Transfer by private coach to your hotel in Poreč, located on the beautiful Istrian coast.
Enjoy time to settle in and explore the surroundings before dinner at the hotel.

Morning at leisure to explore the town of Poreč.
Choirs attend a festival rehearsal before participating in the festival concert, performing their 30-45 minute programme alongside other international ensembles.

Free time to explore Poreč or take an optional excursion to Pula or Rovinj.
Later, choirs take part in the joint concert of all participating choirs, performing together in an open-air concert near the Church of Gospa od Anđela (weather permitting).

Enjoy a relaxing day exploring the Istrian region. Optional excursions include visiting the countryside with wine and olive oil tasting.
