All over the year numerous top-class cultural and musical events, such as the world-famous Salzburg Festival, take place in front of a historical scenery in the birth town of W.A. Mozart. The fortress Hohensalzburg, the Baroque residence, the Salzburg Cathedral and the historic city center, which became an UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1997, along with the birth house of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, located in the Getreidegasse no. 7, offer an incomparable setting for a choir trip.
Salzburg is well known as it’s the birthplace of the fantastic Mozart, its Baroque architecture and its concerts, theatre performances and operas. Salzburg is a unique combination of scenic Alpine landscape and architectural richness has led to Salzburg’s reputation as one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

Day of arrival and opening evening of the Choir/Music Festival
Attending choirs and music groups arrive in Salzburg and meet their local assistant at the hotel.
In the evening opening of the Festival at the "Stieglkeller", a traditional restaurant at the foot of the fortress Hohensalzburg.
Following first introduction of the participants of the festival while enjoying a dinner at a restaurant and meeting with the Artistic Director of the Festival.

City walking tour, Rehearsals and Festival Concert
Breakfast at your hotel.
In the morning meet with a local guide for a 2,5 hour walking tour of the Old Town of Salzburg.
In the afternoon rehearsals of all festival participants (music, dance, orchestra and choir groups) at the Grosser Saal of the Mozarteum for the evening festive concert at the Mozarteum. Early dinner at a local Restaurant.
In the evening Festival Concert of the International Cantus Music and Culture Festival & Choir Festival „Meet Mozart“ at the Big Hall of the Mozarteum in Salzburg. At the end of the Festival Concert all participating groups will present a common piece the “Song of peace”. The Gala Concert for the benefit of a charitable foundation.

Ecumenical mass at the Salzburg Cathedral, Excursion to the province of Salzburg and Closing of the Choir/Music Festival
Breakfast at your hotel
In the morning: Meeting of all participating groups in front of the Salzburg Cathedral for set up and rehearsal.
Following an ecumenical mass celebration service and a musical presentation by the attending music groups at the Salzburg Cathedral.
In the afternoon: Open-air concerts on one of the town squares or at the Mirabell Garden in Salzburg.
Alternativly: Guided excursion to the province of Salzburg and the Lake District featuring original sites of the movie “The Sound of Music”: Visit the Hellbrunn Palace, continue on to the Lake Fuschlsee to the town of St. Gilgen, located at the Wolfgangsee and then to the Lake Mondsee and visit the castle church there. At the end of the excursion, visit the Leopoldskron Castle, a further site of “The Sound of Music”.
In the evening: Farewell evening of the International Cantus Music and Culture Festival & Choir Festival “Meet Mozart” 2019 at the restaurant “Stiegl Keller” at the foot of the fortress Hohensalzburg with buffet dinner and live music.
Distribution of participation certificates for all attending groups.

The arrival and departure are to be carried out independently.
Depending on your travel arrangements we can gladly assist you with booking ground transportation (local Austrian coach) to/from the airports in Salzburg or Munich and for all local festival transfers.
Choirs can reach the concert venues by subway (or public bus) from the hotel or we can offer optional coach transfers. We recommend that larger groups consider the use of a coach for the transfers
