International Advent Singing Festival

The Vienna Advent Singing Festival will take place from 27 November to 01 December, 2026, as Vienna prepares for the Christmas season. Vienna is home to the world famous Boys’ Choir, the Viennese Waltz and Johann Strauss. The city has also been shaped by other great artists such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, whose cultural and musical legacies remain vibrant to this day.
Vienna offers visitors a rich variety of music events as well as masterpieces of baroque art and architecture. During the pre-Christmas season, choirs from around the world visit Vienna’s atmospheric Christmas markets. Over the years, the grand Festival Hall in Vienna City Hall has become one of the most popular performance venues. This event program offers your choir the opportunity to present your musical repertoire to Viennese audiences in two unique events: a concert in the Festival Hall of Vienna City Hall, and the participation in a mass service at a selected church.

PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITIES
Choirs participating in the Vienna Advent Singing Festival perform in two unique musical settings during the festive Advent season in Austria’s capital:
Festival Concert - Vienna City Hall
Choirs present a 30-minute performance in the Festival Hall of Vienna City Hall, performing for Viennese audiences and international visitors.
Performance During a Church Mass or Service
Choirs also perform during a mass or church service in one of Vienna’s historic churches, presenting approximately 5–6 pieces aligned with the Advent liturgy.
An organ is usually available for accompaniment.
Music: Choirs perform their own repertoire, with a focus on Advent-themed music, although traditional songs from the choir’s home country are also welcomed.

Day 1 - Arrival in Vienna
Arrive in Vienna, meet your local English-speaking guide and transfer to your centrally located hotel.
