About the Event
Budapest is one of the most magnificent cities in Europe. Admire the magnificent architecture of Hungary’s parliament building, walk the famous Andrásy Avenue – starting from the historic Heroes Square and stretching almost as far as the St Stephen's Basilica. See the city sights on a city tour, as you are chauffeured along Budapest's elegant boulevards to Heroes’ Square, across the mighty Danube and up to Gellert Hill. Look out over the famous river dividing Buda and Pest - the two sides linked by the Chain and Elizabeth Bridges. Visit the Castle District and enjoy the amazing views from the Fisherman’s Bastion over the exquisite Parliament building, one of the largest in Europe. During your free time, spend the afternoon at the popular pedestrian shopping street of Váci utca where the city’s fine museums and monuments, churches and synagogues, historic squares and buildings are within easy reach or enjoy a relaxing visit to one of Budapest's famous thermal baths, literally an institution in Budapest! It is here, “by the beautiful blue Danube,” that the Budapest Music Festival takes place.

InChoral evaluation system
The InChoral evaluation system was presented at 2015 Budapest International Choral Competition. It preserves all the advantages of the well-known evaluation concept that I worked out while introducing new criteria to provide a more efficient assistance to choirs’ learning with a more detailed and perspicuous evaluation system. Beside other aspects the jury will give choirs a feedback about the programme dramaturgy, the selection, difficulty etc. In evaluating a choir, taking all the criteria into account, we aim at finding a most desirable proportion of various elements to provide a realistic feedback on the choirs’ performance. This new generation of choir competitions are united under the auspices of InChoral – Interna tional Choral Festival Network – and focus on cultural exchange, getting acquainted with one another and a shared musical experience, beside well-deserved success of the choirs.
According to the score, Bronze, Silver, and Golden Diplomas will be awarded. In case the choir does not achieve a diploma, the choir will receive a Certificate of Participation. The choir with a Golden Diploma and the highest score in each category becomes the Category Winner.
Category winners and choirs both with a result over 23 points can be nominated by the jury for the Grand Prize Competition.
Umbrella categories S, F and P as well as A4 and B4: The jury can nominate more choirs depending on their genre (Female, Male, Mixed, Children‘s Choir, etc.). With a result of 23, 00 or more points they can be awarded with a prize equal to the category winner and have the chance to sing for the Grand Prize. The winner of the competition will be awarded the Budapest Grand Prize endowed with 2.000 Euros (three thousand Euros). Special Prizes: The jury may award special prizes for outstanding performances and unique presentations. Choirs with the longest tradition or choral singing may achieve a diploma of honour.
