International Tuscany Music and Choir Festival, Montecatini Terme, Tuscany, Italy

The Tuscany International Choral Festival takes place each Summer in the medieval town of Montecatini Terme, in Tuscany. This festival offers an exciting program to choirs that includes up to four concert options as well as great sightseeing. The Tuscany festival opens with an official opening ceremony in the “Torretta” Spa Garden where choirs are welcomed by the Mayor’s office of Montecatini Terme and the festival organisers. As part of the opening ceremony, choir enjoy a choral performance by a local Italian choir. During the festival, choirs perform an open-air concert at the “Torretta” Spa Garden. Here choirs have the opportunity to listen to the performances of other participating choirs. Choirs also perform an evening open-air concert at the medieval fortress of “Rocco” in Montecatini Alto. This is an opportunity for all participating choirs to share their music with the local population and each other. In between performances, choir visit the beautiful city of Florence where there is an opportunity to perform an open air concert. Dante and Michelangelo, both found Florence to be an ideal forum for their intellectual and artistic output and a walk round beautiful Firenze today will still enthral and enchant in equal measure.

Choirs also have the option of visiting either Pisa with its famous leaning tower or Lucca, a town whose streets are still laid out in the pattern of the former Roman colony. Choirs who wish to have a fourth choral performance can opt to prolong their festival stay by an extra night in Montecatini Terme and perform in one of the beautiful Catholic churches in Montecatini on the Sunday morning.

Tour Manager

A CCI Tour Manager will be assigned to you for the duration of your booking, to assist in the pre-departure preparations and to assist with any issues during your stay. The tour manager does not travel with the group.

Transportation While in Tuscany

Choirs usually make their way around the city with the local guide via public transport. However, we can arrange coach transportation for your group as required.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1

  • Choirs arrive in Tuscany
  • Choirs meet their local tour assistant for transfer by coach to your hotel
  • Choirs have free time in the afternoon
  • Enjoy a walk to soak up the atmpsohere of this picturesque town
  • In the evening, choirs have dinner in the hotel
  • Welcome evening and opening ceremony, held in the “Torretta” Spa Garden
  • Choirs are welcomed by the Mayor’s office of Montecatini Terme
  • Performance by a local Italian choir
  • Followed by a torch parade from Tettuccio to Torretta. 
Day 2
  • Choir performances begin in the Tettuccio Spa Garden
  • Choirs enjoy a tour to either Lucca or Pisa
  • Wine tasting in Montecarlo (near Lucca)
  • Choirs relax over dinner in their hotel.
  • Choirs perform an open-air concert at the medieval fortress "Rocca" in Montecatini Alto or Piazza del Popolo with an Italian and foreign choirs in Montecatini Terme. 
Day 3
  • Enjoy a full day tour to the beautiful city of Florence
  • Option of performance an open-air concert in this majestic city.
  • All choirs join together for the closing ceremony
  • Evening meal, held at a local Tuscan restaurant.
  • All chois join together for a final farewell song. 
Day 4
  • Check-out
  • Individual departure
