As one of the most important choral events in the world, the World Peace Choral Festival aims to provide a platform for the young generation as well as enthusiastic adult choirs of different countries to perform, to learn, to compete, to communicate and to create better intercultural understanding.
Workshops held by renowned musicians give the participants good chances to get in touch with the world top music educators and learn valued methods and superb performance skills which build solid bases for their further development.
Even competition is not the ultimate goal of the World Peace Choral Festival, but to encourage further development of the choirs and their members, the festival provides an open and fair chance for choirs, on their free will and in front of world renowned musicians and music educators, to present themselves in a way of competition. Prizes will be awarded to excellent choirs, conductors and choral members.

Opening Ceremony

We are pleased to announce that the opening ceremony of the World Peace Choral Festival will be hosted at the Acv on July 17th, 2025. We eagerly anticipate choirs from around the world coming together in this modern state-of-the-art venue to showcase global choral excellence and unite in a celebration of music and harmony.
Angels from all over the world singing for World Peace at The United Nations Vienna
World peace remains our paramount concern, and the imperative to strengthen global harmony through communication and understanding among the younger generation is a matter of profound significance for our society today. Therefore, the World Peace Choral Festival was inagurated in 2010. Over time, it has evolved into one of the world's foremost choral events, providing a unique platform for both youth and enthusiastic adult choirs from diverse countries to perform, engage in dialogue, and foster improved intercultural understanding.
With institutions such as the United Nations Office, the international Atomic Energy Agency, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, among others, the Vienna International Centre (VIC) serves as a central hub for diplomacy and communication. It stands as a universa focal point for the promotion of world peace.
As part of the "World Peace Choral Festival" the VIC will be visited as a splendid opportunity to champion world peace! Thousands of children from around the world singinging beautiful songs and evoking emotional melodies beneath the flags of nations create and astonishing atmosphere that resonates with audiences and media worldwide.
Voices for Peace Concerts
The city of Vienna is globally renowned for its rich musical tradition, shaped by famous composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. The Voices for Peace concerts celebrate the diversity and beauty of Vienna's music scene, taking the audience on a musical journey.
Votivkirche
The Votivkirche, also known as the Votive Church of the Sacred Heart, is an impressive neo-Gothic church in Vienna. With its imposing architecture and intricate decorations, it serves as a symbol of faith and spirituality. The church provides a captivating backdrop for moving musical performances.
St. Peter Kirche:
St.Peter's church, one of the oldest churches in vienna, holds historical significance and deep religious meaning. MuTh - Concert Hall of Vienna Boys' Choir
Vienna's new venue for music and theater - the Vienna Boys' Choir Concert Hall in Augarten - opened in December 2012! An exciting new venue has emerged in the heart of Vienna, a place with a focus on young people where music and theater come together. It is also the permanent performance venue of the world-renowned Vienna Boys' Choir.
Workshops
Under the leadership of Univ. - prof. Mag.art. Alois Glaßner, the artistic director of the festival and the head of the Institute for conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), conductors from MDW and other globally renowed choral conductors will provide coaching to the choirs, covering various themes and techniques.
Venues for workshops - Urania - Urania is a public educational institution and observatory located in Vienna's first disctrict, celebrated for its neo-baroque architecture. Founded in 1897 and operational since 1910, Urania has become an essential part of Vienna's cultural and educational landscape, offering a wide range of public lectures and courses. This prestigious venue, closely associated with Vienna's royal and musical heritage, will now host workshops, leveraging its rich historical ambiance to enhance the learning experience in music and other themes.
The University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna The University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (German: Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, abbreviated MDW) is an Austrian university located in Vienna. It was established in 1817 by the Society for the Friends of Music and was nationalized in 1909 as the Imperial Academy of Music and the Performing Arts. In 1998, the university assumed its current name to reflect its university status, which was achieved as part of a comprehensive 1970 reform for Austrian Arts Academies. Today, with a student population exceeding three thousand, it stands as the largest institution of its kind in Austria and one of the largest in the world. Notable musicians who have been associated with the university include Herbert von Karajan, Zubin Mehta, and Jean Sibelius.
Donation Sales to UNICEF
The 13th World Peace Choral Festival will continue to support the work of UNICEF next year. UNICEF Austria appreciates the charitable efforts of the choirs and will issue a certificate to each donating choir. On the day for the Voices of Peace Concerts, choirs participating in the festival may join the initative and sell their souvenirs and merchandise in the lobby of various concert halls in Vienna. This way, the choirs can promote their music and contribute to children in need. The sales income will be donated to UNICEF.
Music connects Generations Concerts
The Music Connects Generations Concerts are planned to take place at some social institutions and retirement homes in Vienna. This musical event aims to bring warmth and happiness to the elderly residents, bridging the gap between generations through the power of music. it is a heartwarming celebration where people of different ages come together to enjoy the beautiful melodies and harmonious voices.
Competition
Choirs participating in the "Competition" category will make their debuts in front of an international jury composed of world - renowed choral conductors and experts.
Miniworkshop - Before or after their competitive performances, each choir will have the opportunity to attend a brief workshop, led by conductors from the Vienna Boys Choir and other renowned Austrian choral conductors. The goal of the competition is not only victory but also the promotion of the international development of choral music by allowing choirs from around the world to compete together.
Gala Concert
The rehearsals and gala concert will take place in the afternoon and evening at the famous Golden Hall of Musikverein, where the renowned New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is broadcasted to the world every year.
Each orchestra will have the opportunity to individually perform on this grand stage, captivating both Austrian and international guests. The gala concert promises to be a festival highlight, offering choir members a memorable experience. The chance to present their music in one of the world's most prestigious concert halls will not only enhance the choir's confidence but also provide a truly exceptional experience.
Echoes of Harmony
The World Peace Choral Festival proudly presents an exclusive concert featuring the Vienna Boys' Choir in the Golden Hall. this special event offers attendees a deep dive into the history and musical compositions that have shaped the Vienna Boys' Choir over its 525-year legacy. An unforgettable experience awaits, providing a unique chance to delve into the captivating world of this renowed choir.

A CCI Tour Manager will be assigned to you for the duration of your booking, to assist in the pre-departure preparations and to assist with any issues during your stay. The tour manager does not travel with the group.
Transportation While in Austria
Choirs can reach the concert venues by subway (or public bus) from the hotel or we can offer optional coach transfers. We recommend that larger groups consider the use of a coach for the transfers.
