A unique musical experience awaits singers at the historic Teatro Cervantes in Málaga. Together with the WDR Rundfunkchor and the Orquesta Sinfónica Provincial de Málaga, Mozart’s Requiem takes center stage in this exceptional sing-along concert, conducted by Simon Halsey.

In focused rehearsals, participants will explore this iconic work under the guidance of one of Europe’s leading choral conductors, culminating in a festive performance on a professional stage.

Both individual singers and full choirs are warmly invited to take part – especially those who already have the Requiem in their repertoire and wish to deepen their interpretation in a vibrant, collaborative setting with fellow international performers.

Repertoire

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Requiem in D minor (KV 626) for Soloists, Choir and Orchestra

- Bärenreiter Edition (completted by Franz Xaver Süßmayr) -

Mozart's last work, the "Requiem" (KV 626), is still unfinished. The completion of the fragmentary score by his assistant and collaborator at the "Magic Flute", Franz Xaver Süßmayr, has the character of a historical source with great proximity to Mozart's thoughts.

The edition of the Mozart’s Requiem that we will sing in this event will be the Bärenreiter’s edition (4538a). 

The Venue

Teatro Cervantes

The Teatro Cervantes is Málaga’s oldest and most prestigious theater, serving as a central venue for the city’s cultural life. Built in 1870 after the previous theater was destroyed by fire, it was designed by architect Gerónimo Cuervo. With its eclectic architecture and a capacity of around 1,200 seats, it offers a striking setting for operas, concerts, and theatrical performances. After a full restoration in the 1980s, it reopened in 1987 and was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize for heritage conservation. Today, Teatro Cervantes stands as both a historical monument and a vibrant hub for the performing arts in Málaga.

Tour Manager

A CCI Tour Manager will be assigned to you for the duration of your booking, to assist in the pre-departure preparations and to assist with any issues during your stay. The tour manager does not travel with the group.

Transportation While in Spain

Choirs usually make their way around the city with the local guide via public transport. However, we can arrange coach transportation for your group as required.
